84000 Government Jobs to be announced in J&K in Coming Months.  How to Apply?

Since the Scrapping of Article 370, and Bifurcation of State of Jammu and Kashmir, there was not a Single Permanent Govt Job announced by State Govt. This means, there is No Job Notification announced by JKSSB and JKPSC. Jammu and Kashmir administration has officially announced, that there are 84000 vacant posts in State Govt. Departments and Ministries. Earlier you have heard that there are 50,000 vacant posts in J&K, but now this number has gone up to 84000. It includes Gazetted, Non-Gazetted and Class IVth posts. Though the Bulk of posts is under Non-Gazetted Category for which JKSSB is entitled to conduct the Recruitment.

84000 Posts Vacant in Jammu and Kashmir



On 8th March 2020 " The Hindu" newspaper reported, that there are 84000 vacant posts in J&K,but recruitment has not started as "Details are being Scrutinized". As per the Data available with the Government, Out of 84000 Total Posts, there are 

  1. 22078 Class IVth Posts 
  2. 54375 Non-Gazetted Posts
  3. 7552 Gazetted Posts.
This Data is given byHome Ministry in a  reply to the parliamentary panel on February 18

Government has already made it clear. that, it will protect the Job Rights of People of Jammu and Kashmir. and will reserve Jobs for Residents of Jammu and Kashmir. 


22078 Class IVth Posts: Eligibility and How to Apply

Earlier the Recruitment for Class IVth posts is directly done by District Level Committees, but Now the Recruitment for Class IVth posts shall be done by JKSSB on the basis of Written test only.

Eligibility: Minimum:10th and Maximum: 12th 

Application Process: All the upcoming Class IVth Recruitments are to be done by JKSSB and Notifications in this regard will be available at the JKSSB Official Website ie (www.jkssb.nic.in). Once there ie any announcement of Class IVth post we will update the same on our Website


54000+ Non-Gazetted Posts: Eligibility Criteria

Recruitment for Non-Gazetted posts in done by JKSSB only. 

The selection process comprises of Written tests only.

It includes posts such as

1) Accounts Assistant
2) Jr. Assistant
3) Jr. Scale Stenographer
4) General Line Teacher
5) Computer Operator
6) Data Entry Operator etc

Eligibility: For some of the posts the Basic Qualification is Graduation. However, there are some technical posts, for which there is subject-specific Qualification

Application Process: Recruitment for Non-Gazetted posts is to be done by JKSSB and All the Advertisements will be uploaded on JKSSB Website at www.jkssb.nic.in. 

7000+ Gazetted Posts: How to Apply?


The Recruitment for Gazetted posts in J&K is done by Jammu and Kashmir, Public Service Commission (JKPSC). It includes various posts like

1) KAS Exam
2) Assistant Professor Posts in colleges
3) Doctors / Medical Officers etc.

Application Process: All the Gazetted posts advertised in J&K are uploaded on the Official Website of JKPSC at www.jkpsc.nic.in
