Big News: Graduation becomes, minimum Qualification to apply for Teacher Jobs in J&K. SRO Announced.
Few Days, back, we have , that the Government is going to amend the Rules for Recruitment of Teachers in J&K, with Changes in Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern and Selection Process and . (ie. those having Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths, as one of their subjects in Graduation, they can apply for 30% Quota). This is being done, to enhance and develop scientific aptitude of students.
These changes are being made, to improve the standard and quality of Education in J&K. We all know, that Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment of Teachers in All over the country (For Center Schools Like, KV's, Army Schools, Navodaya Vidyalayas) is Graduation, but J&K is the only state where even 10+2 are appointed as Teachers, which is below par the standard eligibility.
Now, Government had amended the Rules for Recruitment of Teachers in J&K and made Graduation, as the minimum qualification for the recruitment of teachers in J&K.

SRO 290 : Official Rules Regarding Recruitment of Teachers
SRO means the Order of Government.On 6th September, the J&K State Education Department had released the SRO-249, by exercising its powers as conferred by Section-124 of Constitution of J&K and make amendments in the Jammu and Kashmir, School, Education, Service Recruitment Rules, 2008
Here is the Revised Eligibility Criteria and Method of Recruitment.
- Graduation, is the minimum qualification, but preference, will be given to those having higher qualification like PB/B Ed. / M Ed.
