The much-awaited JKSSB syllabus for Patwari and Naib Tehsildar Posts have been announced Today by JKSSB. This will end the 2 years long wait since the posts were announced. It is worth mentioning here that JKSSB has announced the Patwari and Naib Tehsildar Posts in 2015. However, the exam was not conducted till date, as there was a Stay on the Exam, for the inclusion of Urdu in the Syllabus.

Stay was finally vacated in the month of Sept 2017 and Honourable High Court directed the JKSSB to carry on with the Recruitment process of Patwari and Naib Tehsildar posts. It is expected that 1 Lakh candidates have applied for these posts and Now these people can finally appear in the Written Exams for these posts.

Long with the Syllabus, JKSSB has also announced the Tentative Schedule for the conduct of  Written Exams of Naib Tehsildar and Patwari posts. As per the Official Notification, Exams will be conducted as per the given Schedule

1) Tentative Date for Patwari Exam: Feb/ March 2018

2) Tentative Date of Naib Tehsildar Exam: April, 2018

JKSSB Criteria for Patwari and Naib Tehsildar Exam-2017

Selection Criteria for the recruitment of patwari and Naib Tehsildar comprises of Written Test and Descriptive Test

1) Written Exam: Applicants will first have to appear in the Written Test (Objective Type), that comprises of 120 Questions (120 Marks) having Time Duration of 2 Hours.

Objective Based Written Exam comprises of Questions from following Subjects

i) General English : 20 Marks
ii) General Studies: 30 Marks
iii) Constitution of India: 20 Marks
iv) Constitution of J&K: 10 Marks
v) J&K GK: 25 Marks
vi) Mensuration: 15 Marks

2) Descriptive Paper: The exam intends to check the “working knowledge of Urdu” of the candidates. The same will be tested through a Reading and a Writing test (total comprising of 100 marks in a duration of two hours), to be conducted on the same day.

i) OM candidates need to Score overall 40% marks in the said exam, with 33% marks in both reading and Writing section.

ii) Candidates other OM  need to Score overall 35% marks in the said exam, with 33% marks in both reading and Writing section.

iii) Reading test is to be conducted through Computer Based mode and there were negative marking of 0.25 Marks
